Analysis
Quick specs side by side
| Keyboard | Size | Switches | Keycaps | Software |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keychron C3 Pro | TKL (no numpad) | Red, linear | Double-shot ABS | QMK/VIA |
| Logitech G413 SE | Full size | Tactile | PBT | None needed |
| Corsair K70 CORE TKL | TKL (no numpad) | MLX Red v2, linear | Double-shot ABS | iCUE |
Linear or tactile? Linear (the Keychron and Corsair reds) goes straight down, smooth, no bump. Tactile (the G413 SE) has a little bump so you feel each press. Gamers often go linear, people who type a lot often like tactile. Neither is wrong.
Need a numpad? Only the G413 SE has one. If you do spreadsheets or use number keys for binds, get that. If not, a TKL gives your mouse more room, which is a big deal on a small desk.
Check the layout before you click buy. UK (ISO) has the tall Enter key and the £ sign on Shift+3. Amazon often lists US versions right next to UK ones, so look for 'UK' in the title. We've linked the UK versions here.
What about the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL? It's a decent cheap board, but it's membrane, not mechanical. Fine if you want quiet and spill resistance. See our keyboard under £60 guide.
Verdict
Best value is the Keychron C3 Pro. Want a numpad and PBT keycaps? The G413 SE. Want the smoothest, quietest feel and a bit more polish? The K70 CORE TKL.
FAQs
Are these all actually mechanical?
Yes, all three. The Apex 3 TKL isn't, which is why it's not on this list.
Linear or tactile switches?
Linear (the Keychron and Corsair) is smooth with no bump. Tactile (the G413 SE) has a small bump on each press. Neither is wrong.
Which one has a numpad?
Only the Logitech G413 SE. The other two are TKL.
How do I make sure I get a UK layout?
Look for 'UK' in the Amazon title. UK ISO has the tall Enter key and £ on Shift+3. We've linked the UK versions.
